Iran, Russia Discuss Regional Developments
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian and Russian diplomats at a meeting in Moscow talked about the latest developments in the Middle East and North Africa.
Senior adviser to Iranian foreign minister for special political affairs Ali Asghar Khaji, who is visiting Moscow for consultations with Russian officials, held a meeting with the Russian president’s special representative for the Middle East and North Africa Vladimir Bogdanov on Wednesday.
The Iranian and Russian delegations held negotiations about the latest developments in Syria, Yemen and Libya in the meeting.
The two sides underlined the need for talks in Syria and the political settlement of the existing problems in the Arab country and expressed their support for negotiations between Syria and Turkey within the framework of the four-sided meetings of Syria, Turkey, Iran and Russia.
They also discussed the latest developments in Yemen and reiterated the need for the resolution of humanitarian issues and the establishment of a truce in that country.
The latest developments in Libya were also among the topics discussed in the meeting. The parties underscored the necessity of protecting the territorial integrity of Libya and realization of national solidarity and restoration of peace and security in the North African country.
