Iranian Official Denies Claims on Closure of UK Embassy in Tehran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The charge d'affaires of Iran to London, Seyed Mohammad Hossein Matin, denied an anti-Iran report claiming that Tehran is seeking to close the UK embassy in the Islamic Republic.

In a post on Twitter, he said that such moves are "Secret plots or wishful thinking by enemies against normal relationships between countries, including UK and Iran.”

He called the report “Unsubstantial allegations and fake news”, saying, "Iran is in favor of constructive and normal relations” with the UK “on condition of mutual respect.”

Previously, the "Jewish Chronicle" had reported that Iran is preparing to close the British embassy in Tehran as tensions rise over a plot to kill dissidents and Jews living in the UK.
