Iran’s FM Congratulates Kuwaiti People, Gov’t on Arrival of Ramadan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian offered congratulations to the people and government of Kuwait on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, relaying President Ebrahm Raisi’s greetings to the country’s top officials.

Amirabdollahian and his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Salem Abdullah al-Jaber Al Sabah held talks on the phone about bilateral ties and regional issues.

During the talks, the Iranian top diplomat said, “Fortunately, we recently witnessed the convening of the sessions of the Consular Committee, the Coast Guards, and the Legal Committee.

“We are ready for the holding of the Joint Supreme Commission between Iran and Kuwait,” Amirabdollahian stated.

“In the regional field, good steps have been taken and are being followed up. Relations with Saudi Arabia are moving in a normal direction, and soon, I will hold a meeting with my Saudi counterpart and the activities of the embassies will resume,” he added.

The top Iranian diplomat said constructive agreements are being reached at the regional level. He welcomed the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Syria to normalize relations and reopen consulates.

Amirabdollahian stressed the need for more coordination between Iran and Kuwait toward facilitating consular issues and boosting interactions, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

For his part, the Kuwaiti foreign minister congratulated the government and people of Iran on Nowruz and the holy month of Ramadan. He welcomed the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and described the deal as a blessing for the countries of the region.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister also welcomed the proposal and initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the facilitation of consular affairs and emphasized the continuation of consultations in order to expand and further develop relations.
