Iran-EU Trade Value Hits €761 Million in Two Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The value of trade exchanges between Iran and the European Union (EU) in the first two months of 2023 (January-February) reached €761 million, showing a nine percent decline as compared to the same period last year.

According to a report released by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), the value of trade exchanges between Iran and France registered a 34 percent growth in this period.

Iran and 27-EU member states had exchanged €838 million worth of products in January and February 2022.

The EU’s import of products from Iran in the first two months of 2023 reached €139 million, showing a 17 percent decline as compared to last year’s corresponding period.

During January-February of last year, €168 million worth of products had been imported by European countries from Iran.

Germany, Italy and Spain were Iran’s chief trade partners in Europe in this period respectively.

Among other European countries, Germany was Iran’s main trader partner from January to February 2023, accounting for 31 percent of the total value of trade exchanges between Iran and EU.

Eurostat also announced that the value of trade exchanged between Iran and France in January and February of 2023 has reached €47 million, showing a 34 percent growth as compared to a year earlier.

Iran and France had exchanged €35 million worth of products in January and February 2022.
