In an address at the opening of an exhibition of Iran’s export capabilities in Tehran on Sunday, Raisi said the nuclear negotiations will go on with dignity.
“We will pursue the negotiations from a position of dignity,” he said, lashing out at the US for leaving the negotiation table and the European parties for failing to honor their commitments.
Pointing to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s confirmation 15 times that Iran has fulfilled its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the president said Iran’s reasoning is so logical, graceful and rational that the Europeans have admitted that it is defensible.
However, Raisi stated, the Iranian administration has not tied the economic activities to these negotiations. “We have not linked and won’t link the (economic) growth and production to the political negotiations.”
Referring to the White House spokesperson’s admission that the policy of maximum pressure against Iran has ended in failure, Raisi said the US has accepted the “dismal failure” while Iran has bypassed the sanctions and made progress in various industries.
The fact that the value of Iran’s annual export has broken the record of the past 40 years by exceeding $50 billion signifies the administration’s determination to give the production a boost, he added.
In a speech in March, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for Iranian officials to focus on controlling inflation and boosting production after choosing “Inflation control and growth in production” as the slogan of the new Iranian year.
Describing production as the solution to the economic problems in Iran, the Leader said, “Production is a fundamental task in the economy.”
