Iran Raps Attack on Pakistani Politician in Balochistan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned a suicide attack on leader of Islamic movement Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Pakistan’s Balochistan.

In a statement on Friday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the convoy of leader of Jamaat-e-Islami emir Sirajul Haq in Pakistan’s Balochistan.

The spokesman said he is delighted that the terrorists have failed to harm the prominent Pakistani figure, wishing those injured in the attack health and a speedy recovery.

Sirajul Haq on Friday narrowly escaped a suicide attack that targeted his convoy in Balochistan’s Zhob while six others were injured.

Police said Haq’s vehicle was partly damaged in the incident while the JI emir remained unhurt, adding that a body found at the site of the blast was of the suicide attacker.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the suicide attack, saying he had directed the Balochistan government to investigate the attack from all angles and bring the perpetrators to justice.
