OPEC Considering All Options for Its Crude Production Policy: Iran’s Envoy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s representative in the Executive Board of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said that OPEC+ has all options on the table for making decision on its production policy.

Amir Hossein Zamaninia made the comment late on Thursday prior to the 186th ordinary meeting of OPEC in the Austrian capital of Vienna.

He will attend the meeting on behalf of Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji.

Major crude producers in OPEC are influential in making decisions, he emphasized.

The 186th meeting of OPEC’s oil and energy ministers will be held at the venue of the permanent Secretariat of the Organization in Vienna. It will be headed by Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons Antonio Oburo Ondo.

The inaugural ceremony of the 35th OPEC and Non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting (OPEC+) will also be held on Sunday with the participation of heads of missions of the member states, the OPEC secretary general and representatives of the media.

OPEC+ oil and energy ministers within the framework of “Declaration of Cooperation” in its 34th ministerial meeting, which was held through videoconference, had decided to remain committed on what was agreed on October 5 based on reducing the daily output of two million barrels of oil per day (bpd) up by 2023.
