His compatriot Abolfazl Zandi also won a bronze medal in the category.
Iran’s Nahid Kiani had previously won a silver medal in the women’s -57kg.
The opening Grand Prix of the year is due to conclude on Sunday with the women's under-49kg and men's under-80kg events.
