Israeli Forces Suppress Palestinian Protests against Settlements in West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Friday as Israeli occupation forces suppressed peaceful marches protesting against the establishment of settlement outposts in multiple areas of the occupied West Bank.

In the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, foreign solidarity activists and dozens of residents participated in a peaceful march rejecting the establishment of a settlement outpost on village lands, according to activist Mansour Tanatra, who confirmed the events to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.

Tanatra stated, "After Friday prayers in the village council square, the people launched a peaceful march opposing the pastoral settlement outpost. However, the occupation forces suppressed them, resulting in injuries from tear gas suffocation and stun grenades."

He further explained that while the villagers managed to remove the settlement outpost, it is a mobile structure set up by settlers on the village lands. There are concerns that this outpost serves as a precursor to seizing thousands of dunums of village lands.

In Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, six Palestinian youths were wounded by rubber bullets, and many others suffered from tear gas suffocation as the occupation army attacked participants in the village's weekly anti-settlement march. The march aimed to condemn the ongoing assaults by the occupation army and settlers against the Palestinian people, as confirmed by local sources.

The occupation forces had raided Kafr Qaddum the previous night, firing live bullets at young men who confronted them with stones, resulting in no injuries.

In addition, Israeli occupation forces suppressed the weekly march in the village of Beit Dajan, east of Nablus, rejecting the establishment of a settlement outpost on village lands, as reported by local sources.

Furthermore, dozens of Palestinians in Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, suffered from tear gas suffocation last night after clashes broke out when the occupation forces stormed the town.

On another note, settlers, accompanied by Israeli occupation forces, entered the spring area in the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus, and performed Talmudic prayers, while tear gas canisters were fired by the occupation forces, resulting in several injuries.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces prevented Palestinians from holding Friday prayers on their threatened lands in the town of Derastia, west of Salfit in the northern West Bank. Additionally, settlers attempted to storm the ancient area of Bir Abu Ammar in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
