President Applauds Iranian Volleyballers for Winning U-21 World Championship Title
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi congratulated the country’s volleyball players on claiming the title of the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship in Bahrain.
In a message on Sunday night, Raisi extended his congratulations to all Iranians and expressed appreciation to the Iranian men's national under-21 volleyball team for winning the championship in Manama.
The president said the mighty victory of the volleyball team without a single defeat in the games created hope, displayed another aspect of the young Iranian athletes’ capabilities and talents, and brought jubilation to the Iranian nation.
He also thanked the coaches and related officials for their strenuous efforts and wished success for Iranian youths in all international arenas.
On Sunday night, Iran edged Italy 3-2 in the final match of the championship.
It was Iran’s second gold in the history of the competition. It also had a bronze medal in 2007.
Bulgaria completed the podium with bronze.
