Amirabdollahian held a meeting with Serbian Deputy Foreign Minister Goran Aleksic in Tehran on Saturday.

Hailing the “good and progressing” relations between Tehran and Belgrade, the Iranian foreign minister pointed to the meetings between the officials of Iran and Serbia, including the recent trip by Serbian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic to Tehran, saying Iran sees no limit to expanding ties with Serbia.

For his part, Aleksic, who is visiting Tehran for the second round of political consultations with Iranian officials, underlined the importance of friendly relations between Tehran and Belgrade.

He said the presidents of the two countries believe that the expansion of ties in different areas is of special significance.

The Serbian diplomat lauded the rise in the volume of trade exchanges between the two sides over the past year, expressing hope that the economic relations would improve greatly in the near future.
