Iran Hails Resumption of Ansarullah-Saudi Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian foreign minister’s senior adviser for special political affairs lauded the restoration of peace negotiations between Yemen’s Ansarullah and Saudi Arabia.
In a video call with the special envoy of the UN secretary-general for Yemen on Sunday, Ali Asghar Khaji said Iran is delighted with the resumption of political talks between Yemen’s Ansarullah and the Saudi authorities.
The Iranian diplomat also pointed to the deplorable humanitarian conditions in Yemen, calling on the international community and the United Nations to push for the delivery of humanitarian aids and medicine to the impoverished country.
The Iranian and the UN diplomats both stressed the need for a political settlement of the crisis in Yemen.
They also expressed hope that the restoration of political talks between Ansarullah and Saudi Arabia would result in the necessary agreements for the resolution of humanitarian issues and the establishment of a lasting ceasefire in Yemen.
