Iran Imports over 4 Tons of Gold Ingot in 5 Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Over four tons of standard gold ingot, valued at $265.376, were imported by Iran in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to August 22), according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Gold ingot imports accounted for 1.1 percent of the country’s total import value in this timespan, IRICA added.

Gold ingot imports were the ninth major goods imported into the country from March 21 to August 22.

In this period, 2 tons and 276 kilograms of gold ingot were imported into the country via the Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) Customs Office, accounting for 55 percent of the total gold ingot imports in this period.

One ton and 167 kg and 560 kg of gold ingot were imported via Bashmaq and Tabriz customs offices, IRICA concluded.
