India Kabaddi Team Beats Iran in Controversial Final: 2022 Asian Games
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – India’s men’s kabaddi team defeated Iran 33-29 in a controversial match in the final of the 2022 Asian Games on Saturday.
It was a match marred with controversy and was halted for almost an hour due to a confusion regarding one of the Kabaddi rules. But in the end, the Indian team prevailed over the Iranian counterpart as India clinched its 28th Gold Medal in the Asian Games.
It was 8th gold for India at the Asian Games in men's kabaddi.
Iran had defeated India in the previous edition in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Iran's women's team also won a bronze medal in the Games.
