Speaking to Tasnim in Gaza, the sources said since the beginning of designing and planning for the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, the Hamas resistance movement had thought of plans for countering an Israeli ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
They said that Hamas and other resistance groups have naturally analyzed the possibility of a ground assault by the Zionist army and prepared the necessary measures to counter it.
Hence, there is a major surprise plan in store that would create a big nightmare for enemy troops in case of a ground operation against the coastal enclave, the sources said.
The resistance movements have previous experiences of taking “preemptive measures to disrupt the Zionist regime’s plans”.
One example is the 33-day war in which the resistance took enemy hostages, forcing the Zionist regime to change its plan of occupying southern Lebanon and ultimately facing defeat in its operation.
Now, Hamas has launched an operation to force the Israeli regime’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to react and send the Zionist army into Gaza without making the necessary preparations.
Another point to remember is that since Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip in 2005, Israel has launched four major military operations against the costal enclave but failed to maintain its occupation of even an iota of the land of Gaza.
This is while the military power of Hamas today has multiplied compared to the early years after it seized control of Gaza.
On October 7, the Palestinian resistance fighters launched a hybrid surprise operation, dubbed Al-Aqsa Storm, outside Gaza after Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in recent days and a record number of Palestinians were killed by Israel in recent months.
The Zionist regime has responded by pounding the besieged Gaza Strip after formally declaring war against the Palestinian Hamas group.
International observers and even Israeli analysts acknowledge that the Al-Aqsa Storm operation has proven to be a major intelligence fiasco for the Zionist regime.
