Transit of Goods via Iran Up 13% in 6 Months: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The director general of the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development for commercialization affairs announced a 13 percent growth in transit of goods via the country’s land and territory in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2023).

Some 6.530 million tons of products were transited from the country between March 21 and September 22, 2023, showing a 13 percent hike compared to the same period last year, Amin Tarfa’ said.

The road transit from the country in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year has registered a 17 percent growth, the director general said, adding that 654,000 tons of goods were transited from the country via rail.

He went on to say that 2.330 million tons of oil products were transited from the country between March 21 and September 22, 2023.

In addition, 3.550 million tons of non-oil goods were transited from the country in this period, he added.
