Tehran to Host 2nd Eurasia EXPO: TPOI Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The second edition of the Eurasia EXPO will be held at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds on December 4-7, 2023, the head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) announced on Tuesday.

The exhibition will be held with the participation of representatives of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)’s member states, some members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC), Mehdi Zeyghami stated.

Domestic and foreign companies working in various industrial, mineral and agricultural fields will showcase their latest products and achievements at the expo, he stated.

Specialized seminars and conferences in the fields of transport, banking and monetary issues, trade, scientific, tourism and knowledge-based sectors will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition, he added.

The TPOI chief also said that with the conclusion of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) with the Eurasian Economic Union in the first stage and turning it into a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in the near future, the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and the EAEU’s member states will considerably increase.

Iran’s export of products to the EAEU’s member states (mainly Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan) in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to September 22, 2023) has registered a 18 percent growth compared to the same period of last year, Zeyghami continued.

The First Eurasia EXPO Exhibition was held in Tehran in July 2021 with the participation of high-ranking officials of EAEU’s member states.
