‘Other Actors’ May Step In If Israeli Crimes in Gaza Continue: Iran’s Top General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces raised the possibility of involvement of “other actors” in the Gaza crisis in case the Zionist regime’s atrocities against Palestinians in the enclave do not stop.

In separate telephone conversations with the defense ministers of Russia and Qatar, Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri called for immediate action by the international community to stop the Israeli massacre of people in Gaza and send humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.

“The continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes (in Gaza) and the direct support and backing from certain countries would further complicate the situation and could make other actors intervene in this arena,” the top commander told Russia’s Sergei Shoigu.

In talks with the Qatari defense minister, Major General Baqeri emphasized that Muslim silence on the Israeli acts of aggression against Palestinians is unjustifiable.

Any reaction from the resistance groups will be possible if the Zionist regime’s brutal attacks go on, the Iranian general warned.

He also lashed out at the US for commanding the Israeli regime’s criminal operations against Gaza, calling for a ban on the deployment of arms and equipment from the US’ regional bases to the occupied Palestinian territories.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group waged a surprise attack, dubbed Al-Aqsa Storm operation, against the occupying entity.

So far, 3,500 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air raids, including more than 1,000 children and 1,000 women.
