No Trade Tariffs between Iran, Russia by Yearend: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A member of the Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce said the trade tariffs between Tehran and Moscow will reach zero by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2024).

In an interview with IRNA on Sunday, Kambiz Mirkarimi said that doing trade with the national currency, free trade and opening customs borders between Iran, Russia, Armenia and Belarus will be made possible soon.

With the development of trade and business activity between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (UAEU)’s member states, problems facing economic activists in the field of customs, tariffs and competitive market will be settled before the end of the current year, he emphasized.

Development of transport infrastructures is a prerequisite for the export to boom, he said, adding that the development of software infrastructures in the field of free trade agreements with other countries is being implemented rapidly.

Iranian and Russian negotiators have held constructive talks and inked good memoranda of understanding (MoUs) which will be implemented after being finalized in the parliaments of five Eurasian countries and Iran, Mirkarimi added.
