Idleness on Gaza War to Spur Nations into Action, Iran Warns

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The president of Iran cautioned that if governments fail to take effective measures to stop the Israeli regime’s atrocities against Gaza, regional nations will step in as their patience is wearing thin.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met on the sidelines of an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Saudi Arabia on Saturday to discuss ways to stop the Israeli onslaught against Gaza.

On the escalation of the crisis in Gaza, the Iranian president denounced the deafening silence of the governments that claim to be advocating human rights and condemned international organizations’ silence on the Zionist regime’s barbaric crimes against defenseless Palestinians.

“If the nations lose hope after the inaction of governments (regarding the Gaza crisis), they will run out of patience and any incident in the region will be possible as nobody will be able to stop the uprising of nations,” Raisi warned.

He also lashed out at the US as the main sponsor of the Israeli crimes against Gaza, saying the Zionists that are unable to deal with the resistance forces have resorted to the massacre of defenseless women and children.

For his part, the emir of Qatar hailed Iran’s pioneering role in the Islamic world, noting that the pressures from the world public opinion have been mounting on the governments sponsoring the Zionist regime to reverse their policies.

He also expressed hope that the OIC summit in Riyadh would provide practical and concrete assistance to the Palestinians in Gaza.

More than 11,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, when Hamas fighters launched a surprise operation against Israel outside Gaza.
