Egypt Pressed to Open Rafah Border Crossing

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran said he has reminded Egypt of the urgent necessity of reopening the Rafah border crossing to help the Palestinian people besieged in the Gaza Strip.

“Told (Egyptian) FM Sameh Shoukry: today is our test day and Egypt is expected to open the Rafah crossing to send water, medicine &…to Gaza,” Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said in a post on his X account on Sunday.

“Israeli regime collapsed on Oct 7 and is now alive on American artificial respiration. The world is witnessing the full-scale American war against Gaza,” the top Iranian diplomat added.

The Israeli regime waged a bloody war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

More than 11,100 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.

The Tel Aviv regime has also blocked access to water, food, and electricity in Gaza, plunging the territory into a humanitarian crisis.

Gaza’s two largest hospitals, al-Shifa and al-Quds, have both closed. Israeli snipers continue to fire at anyone near al-Shifa Hospital, trapping thousands inside.
