Iran Urges Full Implementation of Security Deal with Iraq

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran urged that all provisions of the security agreement with Iraq should be fully carried out.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and Iraq’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom held a meeting in Tehran on Sunday.

In the meeting, Amirabdollahian hailed the relations between the two countries as an exceptional model in the region.

He also highlighted the continuous reciprocal visits and high-level consultations between the two nations, saying various cooperation agreements on different sectors indicate the depth of their amicable ties.

Commending Iraq's pivotal role in promoting regional stability, Amirabdollahian stressed the necessity of bolstering diplomatic and international endeavors to address the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza.

He further lauded the progress in implementing the bilateral security agreement between Iran and Iraq, stressing the need to carry out all of its provisions.

For his part, the Iraqi deputy foreign minister condemned 75 years of the Zionist regime’s occupation of Palestine.

Voicing support for Palestine’s unity, the Iraqi diplomat urged the Islamic world to converge in support of Palestine.
