Iran Refutes Story of US Message about Palestine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry dismissed media stories that the US has sent a message to Tehran about Palestine and the war on Gaza.

Speaking to reporters at a presser on Monday, Nasser Kanaani rejected the media claims that Iran has received a message from the US about Palestine.

Highlighting Iran’s “clear and detailed” stances on the developments in Palestine, the spokesman said Tehran is involved in talks with various parties to end the Israeli regime’s atrocities in Gaza and weigh plans to assist the Palestinian nation.

Iran believes that the US government lacks the competence to play a role in the issues regarding Palestine, he stated.

“The US has never been part of the solution, but always a side of the conflict,” the spokesman said.

Decrying the White House for the admission of its commitment to protecting the Zionist regime, Kanaani said such a government has no legitimacy to propose political solutions to the Gaza crisis.

The only thing the US can do is to stop supporting Israeli crimes and satisfy the international community’s demands, the Iranian spokesman added.

He reiterated that the political fate of Palestine needs to be settled by its own people.

Nearly 22,000 people have been killed and over 56,000 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.

The Israeli bombardments have destroyed 70 percent of homes in Gaza, where 1.5 million people have been left homeless.
