The tournament brought host Russia, youth Russia, Belarus and Iran together.
Team Melli had lost to Belarus 29-28 in its first match but defeated Russia 26-29 in the second match.
Iran participated in the event as part of preparation for the 2024 Asian Men's Handball Championship.
The Asian championship will be held in Manama, Bahrain, from January 11 to 25.
Iran has been drawn in Group B along with South Korea, China, and New Zealand.
