Iran Keen to Enhance Trade with Denmark

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian foreign minister voiced Tehran’s readiness to promote economic and trade cooperation with Denmark through stronger interaction between the private sectors of the two countries.

In a meeting with his Danish counterpart in Geneva on Tuesday, Hossein Amirabdollahian said Tehran is ready to continue talks and cooperation with Copenhagen within the framework of mutual interests.

Expressing Iran’s preparedness to promote economic and commercial cooperation with Denmark, he said it is possible to strengthen the collaboration of the two countries' private sectors given the mutual interests and capacities.

Amirabdollahian also expounded on Iran's position regarding the developments in Ukraine and the Red Sea, stressing that Tehran supports a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine.

Describing the continuation of the Gaza crisis as the root cause of instability in the Red Sea, the Iranian top diplomat called for pressure on the Zionist regime to stop the war against Gaza and the genocide of Palestinians.

For his part, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen referred to the regional crises, including in Ukraine, Palestine, and the Red Sea, stating Denmark's willingness to consult and exchange views on these issues with Iran.

The top Danish diplomat also stressed the need to continue efforts to find a political solution in Gaza and prevent a humanitarian disaster.
