IRGC Confirms Loss of 7 Forces in Israeli Attack on Damascus

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed that two of its generals and five other military advisers have been martyred in a missile attack that the Zionist regime’s warplanes conducted on Iran’s consulate in Damascus on Monday.

In a statement on Monday night, the IRGC said the “fake Zionist regime” has committed the crime of attacking Iran’s consulate in Damascus after its irreparable defeats against the Palestinian resistance and the perseverance of the people of Gaza and following its frustration in the face of the steely resolve of the regional Islamic resistance.

It noted that the missile attack launched by the Israeli warplanes resulted in the martyrdom of General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and General Mohammad Hadi Hajirahimi, two commanders, veterans of war, and senior military advisers in Syria.

The statement said five other Iranian advisers and officers, namely Hossein Amanollahi, Mahdi Jalalati, Mohsen Sedaqat, Ali Aqababaee, and Ali Salehi Ruzbehani, have been also martyred in the strike.

The IRGC strongly condemned the Israeli crime and offered condolences to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian nation and the families of the martyrs.
