Iran to Share Agricultural Experiences with Venezuela: Deputy Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official at Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture said the ministry is keen to share agricultural experience and technical know-how with Venezuela.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mojtaba Khayyam Nekouei said in a joint meeting with Ambassador of Venezuela to Iran José Rafael Silva Aponte and a number of agricultural researchers of the South American country that competent Iranian private companies are ready to transfer technical know-how and modern technologies in the agricultural sector to Venezuela.

The first edition of short-term training courses hosted by the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran is underway in Tehran on April 12- May 17 with the participation of eight agricultural experts from Venezuela, Mehr news agency reported.

Nekouei went on to say that the establishment of private sector companies at agricultural science and technology villages and parks is a golden opportunity for enhancing economic ties between the two countries.

The ambassador of Venezuela, for his part, stated that dispatching the agricultural experts of his country to Iran to get familiar with modern agricultural sciences and technologies is in line with preserving and improving the food security of Venezuela.

The first Science and Technology Park of Venezuela was set up in early 2023 in cooperation with Iran, Aponte added.
