Iran Earns Hard Win over Afghanistan at 2024 AFC Futsal Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran earned a hard 3-1 win over debutant Afghanistan at the 2024 AFC Futsal Asian Cup on Thursday.
Saeid Ahmadabasi scored a brace and there was also a goal from Mahdi Karimi. Afghanistan’s Mehran Ghorlami wrote his own little piece of history with his nation's maiden goal at the tournament.
Iran will next face Bahrain on Saturday, while Afghanistan meet Kuwait in the day’s earlier game at Hua Mark Indoor Stadium.
The competition is underway in Bangkok, Thailand from April 17 to 28.
