Iran, Pakistan Ink 8 Deals during Presidential Visit

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Pakistan signed 8 cooperation agreements during Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s state visit to Islamabad on Monday.

After a meeting of high-ranking delegations, Iranian and Pakistani officials signed 8 cooperation agreements at a ceremony attended by the president of Iran and the prime minister of Pakistan.

According to the deals, the two neighbors are going to establish free trade zones at the common border crossings and promote cooperation in the media and broadcasting sector, livestock health programs, security activities, cooperatives and social welfare plans, as well as legal and judicial activities in the civil and trade fields.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Raisi described the common stances of Tehran and Islamabad as the basis for their regional and international cooperation, saying the two neighbors have agreed to broaden political and economic ties and raise the value of annual trade exchanges to $10 billion.
