Exports from Iran’s Zanjan Up 26% in One Month: Director General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The export of non-oil products from the provincial customs office of Iran’s northern province of Zanjan in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20 to April 22, 2024) registered a 26% growth compared to the same period last year, an official said.

In this period, about 12,500 tons of goods, valued at $31 million, were exported from the customs office of this province, showing a 26% hike in value and a 14% decline in weight compared to last year’s corresponding period, said Zeinolabedin Ganjkhanloo, the director general of the customs office.

He went on to say that 34,000 tons of goods, valued at more than $10.6 million, were imported into this province in this period, indicating an 18 and a 19 percent growth in value and weight respectively compared to the same period last year, ISNA reported.

Zinc ingot, transformer, profile, rebar, angled iron, steel ingot, sulfonic acid, zinc concentrate, dairy products, and lead ingot were the main products exported from this province in this period, he added.

It is hoped that the level of foreign trade will increase in this province in the coming years with the booming activity of the provincial industrial and production units, Ganjkhanloo said.
