Iran Delivers Three Ordered Vessels to Venezuela: PMO Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The chief executive of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) said that three vessels ordered by Venezuela have been delivered to the Latin American country.

Iran’s shipbuilding industry has attracted interest from many countries in the international arena, Ali Akbar Safaei said, adding that Venezuela had ordered three 90,000-ton vessels from Iran and they were built by expert and competent domestic engineers and delivered to the South American country.

He noted that Iran has had maritime transport interactions with Venezuela since years ago.

Expert-level talks have been made with Cuba in the field of constructing ships, he said, expressing hope that domestic capability will be optimally used for the construction of vessels needed by the Latin American states, Mehr news agency reported.
