Iran’s Export of Non-Oil Goods Hits 40% Growth during President Raisi Administration’s Term

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s export of non-oil commodities have increased 40 percent since August 2021 when the administration of the late President Ebrahim Raisi assumed office, according to the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Mohammad Rezvanifar said Iran’s non-oil trade (import and export) rose from $74 billion in 2020 to $116 billion in 2023, showing a 57 percent hike.

He went on to say that non-oil trade grew from 147 million tons in 2020 to 167 million tons in 2023, registering a 20 percent hike in terms of volume.

He put the value of the export of non-oil goods in 2020 at $35 billion, adding that it reached $49 billion last year (ended March 19, 2024), showing a 40 percent hike.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Rezvanifar pointed to Iran’s trade with its neighbors and said it reached $61 billion last year (March 21, 2023 to March 19, 2024), IRNA reported.

More than 17 million tons of foreign goods were transited via Iranian land last year, indicating about 54 percent growth compared to a year earlier, the IRICA chief added.
