The Islamic Republic of Iran is a sanctuary for all Muslims, no matter where they live, Major General Hossein Salami said in an address to a conference commemorating the martyrs of the IRGC Ramezan Base, held in Tehran on Wednesday.
He noted that Iran takes action to support Muslims who are in danger everywhere in the Islamic world and won’t let oppressors persecute Muslims.
The commander also hailed the “proliferation of Islamic resistance”, adding, “Today the Zionists are under fire from Yemen to Iraq and Lebanon and in the True Promise (operation carried out) by Iran.”
The commander described the retaliatory True Promise operation that Iran launched against the Israeli military targets in April as a manifestation of the fact that the Islamic Republic acts single-handedly and supports other Muslims when necessary.
In the early hours of April 14, the IRGC Aerospace Force launched tens of missiles and drones against military targets in the occupied territories in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s April 1 airstrike that killed seven Iranian military commanders and advisers in Syria.
The IRGC said the Iranian missiles that hit the Israeli targets indicated that the retaliatory operation had been considerably more successful than expected.
