Muslim Unity to Ward Off Enemies: Iranian President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Should Islamic nations close ranks, the adversaries won’t dare to harm Muslims, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said.

In a meeting with the heads of Shiite associations of Iraq in Baghdad on Wednesday night, the Iranian president said one of the messages of his visit to Iraq is the declaration of unity and solidarity among Islamic countries.

He noted that if the Islamic countries remain united, the US, the Europeans and the Zionist regime will not dare to bomb Muslims easily and announce hypocritically that they advocate human rights and democracy.

The president also warned about hostile attempts to disintegrate Islamic communities and foment confusion among Muslims, describing Muslim unity as the remedy.

“Nobody and nothing will be able to harm us as long as we stand together because coherence will multiply our power and capacities,” Pezeshkian added.

The Iranian president held talks with the Iraqi president and prime minister in Baghdad on Wednesday before signing 14 cooperation documents with the neighboring state.

He also visited the holy shrines of two Shiite imams in Al-Kadhimiyya Mosque in Baghdad on Wednesday night.

The Iranian president has described cooperation for regional development as the guiding principle of his administration’s foreign policy.
