Iran’s Embassy Operating in Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry denied rumors about the evacuation of the country’s embassy in Syria, saying the diplomatic site is operating normally.

In an interview with Tasnim on Saturday, Esmaeil Baqaei dismissed media speculations about the evacuation of Iran’s embassy in Damascus.

“Those claims are not true. Iran’s embassy (in Damascus) is still operating and continues with its routine activities,” he added.

His comments came after media stories ran rampant that Iran has evacuated its diplomatic staff from the embassy building in Damascus and transferred them to Lebanon.
