Over Dozen Settlers Injured in Anti-Israeli Operation Near Haifa

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - More than a dozen Israeli settlers were injured, three critically, after a Palestinian carried out a retaliatory car-ramming attack in the occupied territories on Thursday, Israeli media reported.

The incident occurred near the northern Israeli-occupied town of Karkur, close to Haifa, injuring at least 13 occupiers, according to local reports.

Israel’s Army Radio confirmed that a vehicle struck a group of settlers at the Karkur intersection. One of the wounded was in critical condition, while two others sustained serious injuries, the broadcaster said.

Israeli police stated that the suspected attacker, a resident of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, was martyred following the assault.

The attack comes days after multiple bus explosions hit the town of Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv.

Israeli police reported that several buses were rocked by explosions on Thursday evening. No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts, which follow nearly 16 months of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza and continued operations in the West Bank.

Israeli authorities suspect a link between the Bat Yam bus attacks and the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm.

In response, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed the military to intensify operations in the West Bank. War Minister Yoav Gallant recently instructed Israeli forces to remain in West Bank refugee camps for the next year as part of an expanded crackdown.

On Sunday, Israel's Energy Minister Israel Katz announced that military operations in Palestinian refugee camps in the northern West Bank would be expanded.

Since the start of Israel’s latest military offensive last month, at least 40,000 Palestinians have been displaced from their homes in Jenin and nearby Tulkarm, according to local officials.
