Iran, Armenia Discuss Key Bilateral, Regional Issues in Yerevan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan to discuss critical bilateral and regional matters, reinforcing diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Focusing on major bilateral and regional issues, Mirzoyan hosted Araqchi for a working dinner on Monday night, following the Iranian diplomat’s arrival in Armenia’s capital earlier in the day.

During his visit, Araqchi is also scheduled to meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and other senior officials, with discussions expected to include developments in the Caucasus region.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei announced Araqchi’s trip on Sunday night, stating that the visit was made at the invitation of Armenia’s foreign minister. He emphasized that the trip aligns with Iran’s ongoing consultations with neighboring countries regarding bilateral ties and regional developments.

On March 16, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan, where both officials exchanged views on bilateral relations and underscored the significance of regional peace and stability.

Iran and Armenia have shared friendly diplomatic relations since the establishment of official ties in 1992.
