A telephone conversation between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday opened with warm mutual congratulations on Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy Islamic month of Ramadan.
The two presidents also expressed their desire to meet in person to discuss the mutual interests and the regional and international affairs.
"I hope you, the Muslim nation of Turkey, and all Muslims around the world benefit from the blessings of this great holiday," Pezeshkian said, referring to Eid al-Fitr.
The Iranian president also expressed optimism about holding a meeting in future, emphasizing the importance of deepening ties and enhancing relations, as well as addressing the regional and international developments.
For his part, President Erdogan congratulated Pezeshkian and the Iranian nation on Eid, asking the Iranian president to convey his congratulations to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
Erdogan also pointed to an upcoming meeting of Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Commission, saying it would provide an opportunity to discuss the mutual, regional, and international issues in more detail.
