Sepahan Moves to 2nd Place, Persepolis Loses to Shams Azar
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team defeated Foolad 2-0 to move up to the second place in the 2024-25 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday night.
Foolad defender Ali Nemati scored two own goals in Isfahan’s Naqsh-e Jahan Stadium.
In another match in Qazvin, Persepolis lost to Shams Azar 3-2 to face a major setback in the IPL title race.
Furthermore, Chadormalou lost to struggling Havadar 2-1 in Yazd, and Malavan defeated Mes 3-0 in Bandar Anzali.
Tractor leads the table with 51 points and one game in hand, followed by Sepahan (49 points) and Persepolis (47 points).
