In a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hailed the cordial relations between the two countries.

Kuwait seeks to enhance relations with Iran, the emir stated, welcoming Iran’s “constructive and positive” messages and stances on the promotion of ties with the neighboring states.

He noted that Kuwait supports the settlement of conflicts as well as the regional and international tensions through dialogue without the use of force.

According to its Constitution, the State of Kuwait would by no means allow an act of aggression to take place from its soil against another country, the emir stressed, adding that under no circumstances will that policy change.

Approximately 13,500 US forces are based in Kuwait, primarily at Camp Arifjan and Ali al-Salem Air Base. The US currently maintains 2,200 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles in Kuwait.
