Music Streaming Platform Removes All Israeli Sets in Pro-Palestine Move

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Music streaming platform Boiler Room has taken down all videos of performances held in occupied Palestine, as global cultural institutions face increased scrutiny over ties to the criminal regime of Israel.

Boiler Room has removed all videos of DJ sets and concerts filmed in occupied Palestine from its website and social media platforms.

The company has not provided a public explanation for the move, however the international party line, which previously came out in support of the BDS movement recently said that they “will always remain unapologetically pro-Palestinian”.

The removed content included performances from Tel Aviv and other Israeli-occupied cities, some of which had been available for several years.

Boiler Room, a London-based platform, is known for broadcasting live and recorded music events worldwide.

Although no official statement has been issued, the takedown follows similar actions by cultural organizations responding to calls for distancing from Israel over its treatment of Palestinians and a long genocidal war in Gaza.

Pro-Palestinian advocacy groups have long urged boycotts of Israeli cultural institutions, often referencing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaign.

The move came as the Israeli army escalated its attacks on the Palestinian territory, where nearly 1,400 people have been killed and 3,400 others injured in airstrikes since March 18, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

More than 50,700 Palestinians have been killed in the enclave in a brutal Israeli onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
