Iran Urges Collective Efforts at Regional Peace

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stressed the need for concerted action to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Araqchi and his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani discussed a range of bilateral, regional and international issues in a telephone conversation.

Pointing to a recent phone call between the king of Bahrain and the president of Iran, the Bahraini foreign minister expressed hope that interaction and consultations between Manama and Tehran would continue about various issues of mutual interest.

For his part, Araqchi stressed the need for constant consultations among the regional countries to strengthen peace and stability across the region.

He also expressed Iran’s readiness for cooperation with the other regional states in that regard.

In a meeting on the sidelines of the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva in February, the foreign ministers of Iran and Bahrain rejected any foreign plan for the forced relocation of Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.
