Routes Should Observe Territorial Integrity of States, Iran Tells Azerbaijan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran favors the opening of land routes in compliance with the territorial integrity of countries, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told his Azeri counterpart.

In a message issued on Wednesday, Pezeshkian extended his congratulations to his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev on the Republic of Azerbaijan’s National Independence Day.

He emphasized that Iran advocates for the opening of routes while respecting the territorial integrity of all nations, which can significantly contribute to establishing lasting peace and security in the region, his official website reported.

He noted that the shared history and inseparable bonds between Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic present a valuable opportunity for enhancing bilateral relations.

Iran is committed to elevating ties to the level of a strategic partnership based on mutual interests, the Iranian president stated.

Pezeshkian said Tehran also highlights the importance of accelerating the completion of joint projects across various sectors, including transportation, electricity, and gas, while aiming to increase trade exchanges and facilitate communication between the people of both countries.
