Israeli Army Forces Mass Displacement in Northern Gaza as Assault Intensifies

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Israeli army has issued fresh evacuation orders in northern Gaza, forcing civilians to flee westward amid an intensifying military campaign widely seen as a push for permanent occupation of the Palestinian enclave.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee published a map on X outlining the evacuation zones, including Al-Atatra, Jabalia, Shujaiya, Daraj and Zeitoun.

He warned that operations in those areas would escalate, and called on residents to leave immediately.

The order comes as part of what Israel has termed “Operation Gideon’s Chariots,” a ground assault indicating intentions to tighten its grip over Gaza.

Under the army’s reported strategy, large portions of Gaza are to be brought under Israeli control, while Palestinians are forced southward into so-called “collection camps.”

Israeli media last week reported military plans to occupy up to 75% of Gaza within two months.

At least 18 Palestinians were killed early Friday in Israeli air raids across the Strip, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu.

Seven members of one family were killed when their home was bombed in Jabalia al-Nazla, northern Gaza.

Two separate attacks on gatherings of civilians in Jabalia killed five more.

Three people died when Israeli shelling struck tents housing displaced families in western Khan Younis.

Two Palestinians were killed and others wounded when a civilian vehicle was hit in Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis.

Another was shot dead by Israeli forces in the al-Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah.

Meanwhile, Israeli bulldozers demolished homes in the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City and in al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis.

The latest evacuation orders come on the heels of a deadly Thursday in which nearly 70 Palestinians were killed by Israeli air and artillery strikes across the besieged strip.

The Israeli regime has waged a relentless and brutal campaign in Gaza since October 2023, killing over 54,200 Palestinians—most of them women and children.

International aid organizations have repeatedly warned of famine among the enclave’s more than 2 million residents, amid a near-total blockade and ongoing bombardment.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also being tried at the International Court of Justice in a genocide case over its criminal actions against Palestinian civilians in the enclave.
