OIC Holds Special Session at Iran’s Request amid Israel’s Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A closed-door meeting with all OIC members was to convene in Istanbul Saturday evening, Turkish diplomatic sources said.

The session comes as Israel escalates its brutal attacks on Gaza, intensifying tensions with Iran.

Iran demanded this urgent gathering during the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul.

The meeting aimed to unite Muslim nations against Israeli aggression and coordinate collective responses.

Istanbul hosts the 51st OIC Council session under the theme “The OIC in a Transforming World.”

Turkey, a founding OIC member, has played a key role in organizing this historic meeting.

This session is the largest in OIC history, with nearly 1,000 participants.

Delegations include 43 foreign ministers and five deputy ministers from member states.

Nearly 30 international organizations will also participate, including the UN, Arab League, Gulf Cooperation Council, and others.

The OIC’s firm stance underscores solidarity with Palestine and condemnation of Israeli crimes.
