Embassy Rejects ‘Baseless’ Telegraph Story on Iran Uranium Enrichment

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Embassy in London categorically rejected a report by The Daily Telegraph alleging Tehran's willingness to reduce uranium enrichment levels, describing the claims as "baseless" and part of a broader disinformation campaign.

Politics

The Iranian Embassy in the UK issued a statement denouncing a recent article by The Daily Telegraph that has claimed Iran was prepared to scale back its uranium enrichment to 20% purity to prevent the re-imposition of United Nations sanctions.

The embassy emphasized that the report was based on "vague and unreliable sources" and presented a "distorted and misleading picture" of Iran's nuclear program.

The statement further criticized the British daily for publishing "unsubstantiated" material, warning that such practices undermine journalistic integrity and public trust.

The embassy also noted that it had formally requested a correction of the published report and equal space for the publication of the embassy's official response.

Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and has no intention of abandoning its uranium enrichment activities. The country has also emphasized that it will not be pressured into making concessions under the threat of sanctions.
