Rights Monitor: Israeli Forces Detonate 17 Car Bombs Per Day in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Human rights groups have warned about the Israeli regime’s intensified campaign of destruction in Gaza by deploying car bombs, explosive traps and airstrikes that have killed civilians, destroyed infrastructure and driven mass displacement under “genocidal” conditions.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said Israel is detonating an average of 17 car bombs per day in Gaza City.

Each blast generates tremors equivalent to a 3.7-magnitude earthquake, shaking buildings several kilometers away.

The group reported that in one week, its teams documented 120 detonations of car bombs carrying an estimated 840 tons of TNT in densely populated neighborhoods.

“These bombings, unprecedented in scale and impact, constitute crimes against humanity,” the watchdog said, adding that the attacks are designed not only for physical destruction but also to instill fear and force civilians into displacement.

Palestinian sources said Israeli warplanes are simultaneously striking residential areas while helicopters drop heavy bombs on civilian districts.

Explosive devices and demolition traps are being planted in homes and buildings in neighborhoods such as Sheikh Radwan and Abu Eskandar.

Residents report sleeping in the streets with nowhere to flee, as bombardment continues across Gaza.

Infrastructure has been destroyed, communications networks severed, and severe hunger persists.

The Israeli military continues to issue threats, ordering residents to move south via Gaza’s coastal al-Rashid road.

But civilians face shortages of transport and limited capacity for shelter in central and southern areas, leaving many trapped.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said Israel is pursuing a “health genocide.”

Director General Dr. Munir al-Bursh slammed Israeli forces for systematically targeting civilians, doctors and medical staff.

“Residents of Gaza live in a labyrinth of death,” he told Al Jazeera.

“Israel is deliberately erasing all signs of life to annihilate and uproot Palestinians.”

According to al-Bursh, around 270,000 people have been displaced from Gaza City, while more than 900,000 remain under constant bombardment yet refuse to abandon their land.

He said Israel has designated only 12% of Gaza’s territory as so-called safe zones, attempting to cram 1.7 million people into those areas.

Since the war began, more than 1,700 health workers have been killed and another 361 are imprisoned and tortured, according to the ministry.

Al-Bursh said hospitals are being destroyed and medical personnel deliberately targeted.

“What is happening is a full-scale war crime against humanity,” he said.

“The world now acknowledges the genocide in Gaza, but the international community does nothing to stop it.”
