The European High-Performance Computing Partnership Initiative (EuroHPC) said Friday that new AI factories will be built in Czechia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and Spain.
“The newly selected AI factories will join the 13 previously chosen sites, forming an interconnected network of AI hubs ready to drive innovation across Europe,” EuroHPC said in a statement.
It said the new facilities will include systems optimized for artificial intelligence to further expand Europe’s digital capacity.
Spain’s AI factory will also host an experimental platform designed for developing and testing new AI models and applications while fostering cross-border collaboration.
Each AI factory will serve as a nationwide single-point service, offering support to startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, and researchers across Europe.
EuroHPC said the initiative, backed by over €500 million in funding from the EU and member states, will boost Europe’s computing power and speed up AI adoption in key sectors.
“This expansion strengthens Europe’s position as a global leader in artificial intelligence and ensures that AI solutions can be developed, tested, and scaled within a digitally sovereign European ecosystem,” the statement said.
