In a statement on Sunday, Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei condemned the ongoing atrocities by the Zionist regime in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He abhorred the continued killings and grave violations of human rights and humanitarian law in Gaza and the West Bank.
Baqaei also condemned the prolonged blockade of Gaza, the obstruction of debris removal, and the prevention of repairs to health and medical networks and other vital infrastructure, saying such actions have worsened the humanitarian catastrophe during the cold and rainy season. He called these measures part of a broader policy of genocide against the Palestinian people.
Referring to the intensifying wave of terrorist and destructive attacks by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, repeated desecrations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the ongoing arbitrary arrests and torture of Palestinians, the spokesperson underscored the legal and moral responsibility of the international community to halt the crimes of the occupying regime.
He added that what is unfolding in the West Bank is a continuation of a colonial policy aimed at erasing the Palestinian people —implemented most visibly over the past two years through the killing of tens of thousands of innocent civilians in Gaza.
Baqaei also denounced the comprehensive military and political supports that the US and certain European governments provide to the Israeli regime, describing these states as accomplices in the crimes of the Zionist regime. He finally stressed the need to end impunity for war criminals and perpetrators of genocide.
