In a post on his personal X account, Shamkhani said the Iranian people were well aware of America’s record of claiming to “save” others, pointing to wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza as examples.
“Any interventionist hand that, under pretexts, approaches Iran’s security will be cut off before it reaches its goal, with a response that will make it regretful,” he wrote.
“Iran’s national security is a red line, not a subject for adventurist tweets,” he concluded.
Earlier on Friday, Trump repeated accusations against Iran and voiced support for recent unrest, claiming Iranian authorities were firing on what he described as “peaceful protesters.”
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said that if Iran were to shoot at peaceful protesters, the United States would intervene to “save them.”
“We are locked and loaded and ready to go,” Trump wrote.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter. President Donald J. Trump,” he added.
